Sarah Lee offers precise, minimally invasive wart removal using a medical-grade CO2 laser at IFM in Des Moines. Ideal for common warts, plantar warts, and persistent or recurrent lesions, CO2 laser treatment targets wart tissue with focused light energy to vaporize infected cells while preserving surrounding healthy skin. This advanced approach delivers fast, effective results with reduced scarring and shorter recovery compared with traditional excision.
Why choose CO2 laser wart removal with Sarah Lee
Personalized evaluation: Comprehensive skin assessment to confirm wart diagnosis and develop a treatment plan tailored to your skin type and health history.
Precise, targeted treatment: CO2 laser ablation removes wart tissue accurately, minimizing damage to nearby skin and lowering the risk of recurrence.
Effective for difficult warts: Particularly useful for stubborn, thick, or hard-to-reach warts (including plantar warts) that haven’t responded to topical therapies.
Faster healing and minimal scarring: Controlled vaporization promotes quicker tissue recovery and improved cosmetic outcomes versus traditional cutting.
Safe integrative care: Performed in a clinical setting with medical-grade equipment and sterile technique; post-procedure care includes pain management, wound care instructions, and follow-up to ensure optimal healing.
What to expect
Initial consultation and skin exam to confirm wart type and suitability for CO2 laser.
Local anesthesia to minimize discomfort during the brief procedure.
Single or staged treatments depending on wart size and depth; many patients see significant improvement after one session.
Clear aftercare guidance: keep the area clean, apply recommended dressings or topical agents, and attend follow-up visits as advised. Mild redness, swelling, or crusting are common and typically resolve within days to weeks.
Who benefits
Adults and adolescents with common or plantar warts that are painful, spreading, or resistant to over-the-counter and prescription therapies.

Professional Experience & Credentials
Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP)
Family Nurse Practitioner, Board-Certified (FNP-BC)
Chief Medical Officer & Cofounder of IFM
Specialty: Family Practice
“At Integrative Family Medicine, I am dedicated to building more than just a medical center. I aim to establish a place where patients feel truly cared for and valued. By focusing on comprehensive care and fostering genuine connections, I am always striving to ensure that my patients receive the highest level of support and attention.”
My Background
My career in healthcare has taken me through many different settings, each one shaping how I care for patients today. I have worked as a registered nurse in pediatrics, neonatal care, and Life Flight, and later as a nurse practitioner in urology and sexual health as well as within the Iowa Women’s Correctional System. This wide range of experiences has given me a deep appreciation for the complexity of health and the importance of meeting people where they are.
While my professional background matters, my personal journey is what truly led me to integrative family medicine. I am the wife of a Marine Corps veteran and a mother of two, roles that have strengthened my understanding of how much families need compassionate, patient-centered care. Growing up as one of nine siblings, I learned early the values of generosity, kindness, and empathy. Over time, I saw how often those values were missing in traditional healthcare, and I knew there had to be a better way.
My vision for Integrative Family Medicine goes beyond a typical clinic visit. I want to create a true healthcare home where patients feel supported, informed, and cared for as whole people. I am committed to a model of care that prioritizes accessibility, transparency, and meaningful relationships with individuals and families. I believe the Des Moines community deserves healthcare that is not only effective, but also personal, supportive, and genuinely transformative.
In my opinion, you won’t go to the doctor and receive the time and understanding you get at IFM. Guide your own care with expert knowledge and suggestions. It’s exactly what I needed. Thank you Sarah Lee!
