    Who Stephanie Helps

    • Adults struggling with weight management, especially those with signs of insulin resistance, prediabetes or type 2 diabetes, metabolic syndrome, or difficulty losing weight despite diet and exercise.

    • Patients seeking a holistic, medically supervised program that blends lifestyle medicine with targeted pharmacotherapy.

    • People who want individualized care, realistic goal-setting, and long-term support rather than a quick-fix approach.

What to Expect — Program Components

    1. Comprehensive Intake and Medical Assessment

    • Detailed medical history, medication review, and discussion of prior weight-loss attempts.

    • Assessment of lifestyle factors: sleep, stress, physical activity, eating patterns, and social determinants of health.

    • Focused evaluation of metabolic health: weight and body composition measures, waist circumference, blood pressure.

    • Screening for underlying causes that impact weight (hormonal imbalances, sleep apnea risk, medication effects, mental health factors).

    1. Individualized Treatment Plan

    • A personalized plan developed collaboratively with Stephanie, addressing nutrition, physical activity, sleep, stress, and behavioral strategies.

    • Sleep hygiene and stress-management techniques shown to support weight and metabolic health.

    1. Medical Management and Safe Use of Semaglutide (and related medications)

    • Use of GLP-1 receptor agonists (for example, semaglutide) as part of a comprehensive plan when clinically appropriate and desired by the patient.

    • Careful assessment for contraindications and close monitoring for safety and effectiveness.

    • Individualized dosing, titration, and follow-up to manage side effects and optimize outcomes.

    • Integration of medication with lifestyle interventions — medications are used to enhance results and support sustainable behavior change, not as a standalone fix.

    1. Ongoing Monitoring and Support

    • Regular follow-up visits to review progress, adjust the plan, and address challenges.

    • Repeat laboratory monitoring as needed to track metabolic improvements and medication safety.

    • Coordination with other providers (nutritionists, behavioral health, sleep specialists, endocrinology) when specialized care is needed.

    • Access to resources and practical tools to sustain lifestyle changes long term.

    Why Patients Trust Stephanie

    • Holistic, patient-centered care: Stephanie treats the whole person — not just the number on the scale — looking at metabolic health, habits, mental well-being, and medical factors that affect weight.

    • Medical expertise with an integrative mindset: She blends lifestyle medicine with evidence-based pharmacotherapy, using medications like semaglutide thoughtfully and safely.

    • Individualized plans: Every treatment plan is tailored to your health history, goals, and day-to-day life, with clear, manageable steps.

    • Safety-first approach: Careful assessment, monitoring, and coordination with other clinicians ensure treatment is appropriate and safe.

    Results You Can Expect

    • Improved metabolic markers: lower fasting glucose/A1c, improved insulin sensitivity, better lipid profiles, and reduced blood pressure in many patients.

    • Clinically meaningful weight loss when medication is combined with lifestyle changes, plus improvements in energy, sleep, mood, and daily functioning.

    • Skills and strategies to maintain weight loss and prevent regain over time.

If you’re ready to approach weight loss with a medically supervised, integrative strategy that targets metabolic health and supports sustainable change, book an appointment with Stephanie today. My Background

My career in medicine started back in high school when I trained as a certified nursing assistant. I knew early on that I wanted to work in healthcare in some capacity. I went on to attend Iowa Central Community College, where I earned my Associate of Science in Nursing and began working as an RN in a rural emergency department. From there, I continued my education at Upper Iowa University and completed my Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Around that time, my (now) husband and I moved to the metro, and I spent nearly five years working as a nurse in the Neuro Trauma ICU. During those years, I also pursued and earned my Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner.

Throughout my journey as both a nurse and nurse practitioner, I’ve always been drawn to the fast-paced, high-intensity world of emergency and critical care. But over time, I also started to notice a pattern, where many of the situations I was seeing could have had different outcomes if preventative care had been taken more seriously. I saw gaps in care, misunderstandings about diagnoses, and symptoms that were left unaddressed for far too long. Those experiences really shaped my passion for wellness, preventative medicine, and personalized care. I strongly believe that education is one of the most powerful tools in healthcare. When people truly understand their diagnosis, their treatment options, and the long-term impact on their health, they’re much more likely to feel confident in their care plan, which makes it easier to follow through with.

My goal when caring for someone is to create space for them to share their story including their experiences, concerns, questions, and even frustrations. From there, we can work together to explore testing and treatment options that actually make sense for them. At the end of the day, each person is in charge of their own health—I’m here to support them and provide helpful, honest guidance along the way.

Outside of the clinic, I enjoy spending quality time with my husband and son. My hobbies include reading, drinking coffee, shopping, and catching up on the newest findings in medicine.
